Laura Dion

Hello, I'm Laura Dion, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Sex Therapist in the state of Florida. Telehealth only.

I have been in private practice since 2008. I went back to college once my own children were in high school to become a psychotherapist because of my love for psychology and a desire to help individuals, couples, and families work through difficult times. I also do what I do because of my own positive experiences with psychotherapy, both as a young mother, and as a wife. My goal is to provide you with a positive and productive experience.

I offer an online scheduling system so you can easily schedule or reschedule appointments more conveniently. However, for your first appointment I ask that you call to schedule by phone.

I look forward to working with you!

Who I Work With

I enjoy working with adolescents (14+) and adults alike, meeting with individuals, couples, as well as entire families.

Concerns I Work With

I can help individuals, couples, and families to learn coping skills for a variety of concerns, such as poor communication, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, anger management, stress management, behavior issues, and much more.

You Have The Tools

My perspective is that you already have the necessary tools to work out your concerns, but need someone to teach you how to use those skills. Together we will work on building up your toolset for coping with your concerns.

Systems Approach

I believe in a systems approach to problems and concerns, meaning that we will look at how outside variables such as work, home, and social life may be contributing to the problems at hand.

Certified Sex Therapist

As a Certified Sex Therapist, I have specific training to work with a variety of sexual issues ranging from sexual trauma in the past or present to sexual issues in relationships, sexual dysfunction, and more.

Straightforward & Compassionate

My clients report that they like how straightforward and compassionate I am. I strive to be approachable and practical in my work.

Talk Therapy Process

For someone who has never experienced talk therapy, let me give you a general overview of the process.

Our first session will be a bit of a get to know you experience, kind of an interview of you, in order for us to figure out what your goal(s) of therapy will be. From there we will work together to find the best tools for you to use drawing on your personal strengths and resources; I will teach you how to use those tools, and we will check in regularly to see how those tools are working for you. Together we will set the pace whether we meet once a week, every couple of weeks, or once a month.

For your first appointment I ask that you call me and we will schedule an appointment. Once you have done that you will be able to go to the online scheduling system to schedule future appointments, check on my availability, and reschedule or cancel your appointments. Note this online system is HIPAA compliant.
